GRANTEE:
Columbia Land Trust
RESULT:
4,900 acres protected

Conservation Alliance grantee Columbia Land Trust recently completed Phase III of the Mt. Adams-Klickitat Canyon Conservation project, conserving 4,900 acres in Yakima County, Washington. This is the final step of a nearly 11,000-acre conservation project that represents more than a decade of planning, research, and partnerships.

Klickitat Canyon and the surrounding area are the ancestral lands of the Yakama people, and the vision for conserving this land was developed with support from the Yakama Nation. The conservation of this land benefits recreation, wildlife, and habitat connectivity along the wild and scenic Klickitat River, and ensures that this area will remain wild and healthy for generations to come.
