California Trout

Since 1971, California Trout has worked to protect and restore California’s wild trout, steelhead, and salmon streams. Under increasing threat from dramatic population growth and the effects of global climate change, these cold, clean streams that sustain our fish and enable California’s economy to thrive, require coordinated and strategic conservation efforts to endure. Based in San Francisco, the organization works in communities across California to protect and restore California’s key watersheds: the Eastern Sierra, the North and South coasts, Lake Tahoe, and the Mt. Shasta region. California Trout has a membership of over 7,000 and participates in coalitions that represent more than 250,000 Californians.
