Oregon Natural Desert Association (ONDA) is a 1,700-member, grassroots organization that uses science, education, advocacy and outreach as part of a comprehensive strategy to protect, defend, and restore the health of Oregon's native deserts. Founded in 1987, ONDA is the only group working exclusively to protect Oregon's wild desert landscapes. Over the past 25 years, ONDA has earned many successes including the designation of Spring Basin and the Oregon Badlands as Wilderness in 2009. This achievement added over 40,000 acres of permanently protected wilderness in Oregon's high desert. ONDA is a state and national leader in efforts to protect public lands with high ecological and recreational value.
