The Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center (KS Wild) is an advocate for at-risk wildlife and forests in the Klamath and Rogue River watersheds of northwest California and southwest Oregon. We use environmental law, science, education, and collaboration to defend healthy ecosystems and help build sustainable communities. Our core geographic focus includes more than eight-million acres on the Rogue River-Siskiyou, Klamath, Shasta-Trinity, and Six Rivers National Forests, and the Medford and Lakeview BLM Districts. Our paid staff of six, supported by canvassers, interns, law clerks and volunteers, use administrative, legal and outreach tools to further a science-based approach to wildlands conservation. KS Wild has a solid track record as a conservation leader in the Pacific Northwest.  Over the past decade, we’ve won hard-fought legal victories protecting thousands of acres of ancient forests and roadless wildlands and helped to ensure protections for the region’s most imperiled species. We are encouraged to see our proactive campaigns, in conjunction with our successful litigation strategy, bear fruit in the slowly growing number of beneficial restoration projects proposed in our region.  We host public forums, lead hikes, maintain a door-to-door canvass, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders - all of which help make KS Wild as an effective advocate for a landscape level conservation vision.
